In Amarela, we practice solid waste segregation and composting of kitchen and garden waste.

Water is recycled through rainwater collection and the installation of a Reed Bed system. This system is a form of biological wastewater treatment, turning the wastewater from our bathrooms and kitchens into reusable water for landscaping. Amarela worked with Scotia, a USAid-funded organization, and campaigned for the adoption of this system by establishments in the island.
